INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteers are an integral part of our program. Over 30 caring people from our communities volunteer their time each summer, helping out during lessons. If you are comfortable working with and/or being around horses and enjoy working with and meeting new people, volunteering at Freedom Trails may be for you!
We hold annual Volunteer Orientations in May. We also host workshops for our volunteers.
SIDE-WALKER
(need to be comfortable around horses)
Many of our riders may need assistance in maintaining their balance or in processing instructors' directions. While students learn how to ride and benefit from the movement of their horse, side-walkers provide physical, emotional and verbal support while walking next to the mounted rider.
HORSE LEADER
(horse experience required):
Horse leaders are responsible for leading the therapy horse. They provide assistance to riders who need help in directing their horses. You are also welcome to come early to catch, halter, groom, tack and warm up horses before lessons.
There are opportunities for youth to help out with other duties
to help keep our program running smoothly!
Call for more information.
CORPORATE AND GROUP VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteers make the difference at Freedom Trails and your group could make a difference too! Freedom Trails always has a fun project or two just waiting for a large group to join in the fun.
